Princes Trust
The Prince’s Trust Team Programme is a 12-week-course for young people who are not in employment, education or training between the ages of 16-25. The course is free, and you won’t lose any benefits you may be claiming. Furthermore, any public transports costs incurred by attending the course will be refunded back to you at the end of each week.
Our friendly and supportive Team Leaders will guide you through each phase of the programme as you develop new skills. The programme includes an action-packed residential, a work placement, challenging community-based projects of your team’s choosing and an end-of-team presentation to celebrate your achievements.
SWAPs at Bath College
Bath College are delivering a series of SWAPs (Sector-based Work Academy Programmes) and we are lining up SWAPs in hospitality, employability and construction this side of Easter. In a nutshell, SWAPs are for over 19s who are either not in work or are on a low income. Job Coaches would normally refer people who are on Universal Credit onto the courses but people can enrol directly through the college. Please chat with your Job Coach if you have one.
Most SWAPs will have some level of Work Experience and/or hands-on taster sessions. We always partner with at least one employer who have live jobs available and at the end of the SWAP, leaners are guaranteed a job interview for one of those jobs. As well as the sector specific training, we will also run a Skills Health Check which will look at your levels of English, maths and ICT as well as looking at more general employability around CVs, covering letters, applying for jobs, progression pathways and preparing you for the workplace.
SWAPs are free (please check eligibility) and other sectors we’re looking at running SWAPs in the future will be in pathways into education, NHS (clinical and non-clinical), admin and apprenticeships. For more information get in contact with our Adult Community Learning team today!
