Bath College Covid Protocols

Here you can find our latest guidance surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic for both students and staff, this guidance is reviewed regularly and is up to date as of the 28th February 2022:

If you would like more information, or would like to report a positive case of COVID please email covid@bathcollege.ac.uk

Students

  • If you test positive for COVID you are advised to stay at home for 5 full days.  This is guidance only and will remain the College's guidance until April 1st.  There is no legal requirement to self-isolate, regardless of vaccination status.  Please use sensible judgement in the above scenario and think about how you might spread these germs to others just as you would if you have a very bad cold or flu.
  • Please continue to let the College know if you test positive via covid@bathcollege.ac.uk
  • Students will no longer be required to carry out twice weekly tests and will no longer have access to LFTs from the College.  If you have a particular reason for testing please get in contact with as as we will consider support with College tests on a case by case basis.
  • Students should continue to let teaching staff/tutors/assessors know if they are absence from College due to illness.

Staff

  • If you test positive for COVID you are advised to stay at home for 5 full days.  This is guidance only and will remain the College's guidance until April 1st.  There is no legal requirement to self-isolate, regardless of vaccination status.  Please use sensible judgement in the above scenario and think about how you might spread these germs to others just as you would if you have a very bad cold or flu.
  • Please continue to advise the College if you test positive via covid@bathcollege.ac.uk so that we can continue to make judgements about the impact of COVID and report to the ONS or DfE when required.  Please also make sure you follow the right protocols for absence with your line manager, so that arrangements can be put in place for cover if required.
  • Regular testing: you are still able to test using LFTs and College tests will be available until April 1st.  It is not clear what testing arrangements the Government will put in place after that, though we know that free testing will end and will focus only on the most vulnerable.
  • Routine contact tracing via the NHS app will end.

Visitors, Contractors and other COVID Arrangements

  • Visitors will no longer need to sign a COVID form on entry and will just need to sign in as they did pre-COVID.
  • We will continue to encourage good hygiene and keep up posters around hand washing etc.
  • Hand sanitisation is good practice and so we will keep stocks sanitisers in the permanent dispensers up to date though will not longer be supplying sanitiser for each room after current stocks run out.
  • Guidance on face coverings has not really changed and we would only encourage their use on College campuses or in community venues in exceptional circumstances.
  • We still have the opportunity to return COVID mitigations if we are faced with new Government guidance or new local Public Health guidance.
